Privacy Policy
EnviroReport is a free application created by the ChicAgo Center for Health and EnvironmenT (CACHET) and Audacious Software to help members of local communities document and report environmental incidents that they encounter in their daily lives. This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This document is intended to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our Service.
If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service, to learn how users use the Service, and, if you choose to do so, help the Service submit incident reports to the appropriate public agencies. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with location data to identify the location of environmental incidents. You may also choose to provide additional personally identifiable information to allow us to follow-up for additional information and to provide updates about your incident reports.
Log Data
When you use our Service, in case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through our own and third party products) on your device called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. This Log Data is used for the purposes of troubleshooting problems and identifying possible improvements, as well as measuring application usage and engagement in both individual and aggregate contexts. Log Data containing engagement information is not transmitted to third parties and is accessible only by the EnviroReport staff.
Data Storage and Transmission
Data about your application usage and information related to incidents will be stored on your personal device in order to assist in proper operation of the Service. This information will be sent to a remote server wholly controlled and operated by the EnviroReport staff to enable analyses of the Service and its users.
If you use the Service to submit environmental incident reports you can also submit this, information to the appropriate local public agencies, allowing them to record and address the incident. Information that sent to these agencies may include your name and contact information if you wish to be contacted in follow-up. After receiving information from the Service, representatives of environmental agencies may then contact you to follow up on your report. You have the option of not giving the agency your name but, in that case, you will not receive a follow-up on your report.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties will not have access to your Personal Information.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has given us personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has given us personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy at this location. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
